Welcome to Peartree Counselling and Psychotherapy
Counselling for adults and young people, aged 18 and above, with issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues and trauma amongst others
Welcome
Overwhelm can impact our lives at any given time and in various ways. You might feel that you are doing well with parts of your life and struggling with others, or you might feel generally down. When we are going through a tough time, it can be hard to reach out to friends and family, so talking to a professional can help. I offer both face-to-face and online appointments, or even a mix of both as I appreciate the need for flexibility.
You are now taking the first step towards change and my aim is to make the process as easy as possible for you. Whether you are feeling sad, anxious, stressed, going through life transitions, experiencing issues with relationships, difficulties at work, or struggling to deal with the effects of past trauma, we can work together.
Sometimes, it can also be difficult to pinpoint what the actual issue is and you may have the niggling sense that something just doesn’t feel right, with no insight into what would need to happen or change in order to feel better and that is absolutely fine as our work together will be based around growing your self-awareness, untangling your thoughts, feelings and emotions and exploring any underlying causes for you to see things more clearly and get a better understanding of what is happening for you.
The insight gained from greater self-awareness can often alleviate emotional suffering, improve relationships, and lead to long-lasting, positive change.
Choosing the right therapist
I predominantly work with a Person-Centred approach, although I also use CBT techniques as and when needed. This means I strongly value your individuality as nobody knows you better than you do and I am here to support you through your personal growth journey and to help build on your strength and resilience at a pace that feels good for you.
I have experience working with young people (aged 18 and above) and adults in settings such as colleges and wellbeing centres and welcome enquiries from people of any gender, ethnicity, or background
Let’s talk
I offer a free 20-minute introductory consultation, which can be done on the phone or a video call. This is for us to get to know each other a little, see if you are comfortable working with me as a therapist, and offer you the opportunity to ask me any questions to understand who I am and how I work, and talk through what’s happening for you, discuss your needs and what you are hoping to gain from counselling.
There is no commitment to enter into therapy with me and you are welcome to check in and just have a chat about what might be helpful for you. Contact me now to book a free introductory 20-minute consultation
